From your scenario it is more likely that it did not go in for you would have had more symptoms.. But the best way is to see your MD and get a chest study of his/her choice.

Unlikely. Your airway has a reflex that protects the entrance from food or other agents from entering. In rare cases when it gets passed this reflex, the body responds with persistent cough to expel the material. In exceedingly rare cases the material would be retained & trigger pneumonia over time. When this idea bothers you enough you can see your doc & check it out.

It is very unlikely that food went into you lungs and did not cause coughing. If you get fever or breathing difficulty, it would be prudent to see a doctor. For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs. Get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health!
