How do i know if i have a cold or something more serious? neg for covid but coughing up lots of yellow mucus, congestion and post nasal drip. lots of coughing but my lungs/chest dont hurt?

You might have bronchitis. If any fever, maybe pneumonia. And it still might be COVID, depending on how long after onset of symptoms you were tested, and the type of test (PCR versus antigen test, the kind done at home). If in doubt, it's best to see a doctor to sort this out, especially if your symptoms have lasted more than a week. Good luck.
