Is trichamonsis diagnosed as bacterial , or fungal infection , doctors performing oral swabs and i want them to look for this sti but not sure if it will show up as a bacterial issue or should they be looking for a parasite infection?

Trichomonas vaginalis is a parasitic organism identified by doing a swab and wet mount. The tiny organisms are visible under the microscope.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. If you have one STD, you should be evaluated for other STDs as well. Trichomonas is a single celled parasite and is neither bacterium nor fungus. Get HPV vaccine.
