Taking azythromycin along with pepcid can increase the risk of cardiac arrhythmia but it is a very rare side effect and we only concern when the individual has prolonged QT syndrome or other heart disease. Again, this is a rare side effect so you can take both if you are otherwise healthy. It won't hurt if you want to hold pepcid for a week or you can switch pepcid to tagamet temporarily.

Pepcid ( famotidine) has a strong safety profile but there's a very slim chance it can increase the tendency of azithromycin to cause dangerous cardiac arrhythmias. I am sure very many have taken this combination without incident. Get more information about this from your pharmacist.
