My 12yo has had an innocent murmur since she was 1.5yo. they still heard it yesterday. rrr, nml s1&s2. noted 3/6 systolic ejection murmur heard best at left lower sternal boarder. is this concerning. i thought she would grow out of this by now?

The description likely is what is labeled the innocent murmur of childhood. They may not "grow out of it" but many kids put on chest wall muscles or other tissue which will make the murmur less audible after the teen years. It's presence in the absence of related symptoms is not a problem.

With a 3/6 systolic murmur and to be on the safe side, her pediatrician can order an echocardiogram for ruling out structural heart defect if none has been done in the previous years.
