You had an echo...: What did it show? Possibly a bicuspid aortic valve instead of the typical trileaflet aortic valve? Any hypertrophic changes in the ventricle near the outflow tract? Enlarged atria? Elevated RV pressure? I'd be interested in details. Murmurs can fool even the best cardiologists, and the reaction of the murmur to maneuvers isn't included. Echo is the definitive test to characterize murmur origins.
