In college i was on adderall 40 mg xr but hated the nasty side effects. while i was at my peek it was truly amazing and helped me out tremendously. i just recently started concerta. i was wondering if there was a mg comparison and how much?

It is not useful to attempt to correlate two medications by a MG comparison. They are different medications and may have different effects in each individual. Together, You and your Dr will need to titrate the level of the new medication until you reach the optimum zone for therapy.
