: PSA readings depend on the size of the prostate , any inflammation of the prostate, rectal exam and Cancer. So if abnormal for age range should be repeated. Sudden persistent rise e.g. from1 to3 would be concerning. It is best left to the judgement of your Urologist for he/she will take all factors under consideration .
