Since your echocardiogram showed no valvular or Interventricular septal abnormalities the only other cause of your mild left atrial enlargement would be high blood pressure. Does this pertain to you? Significant left atrial enlargement can predispose you to arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation or SVT. I recommend good follow-up for blood pressure & also a repeat echo in a year.? Stress managemen
