A member asked:

I have a bulge at the end of my incision from hernia mesh surgery from 2 years ago. had a ct scan and everything came back clear. could the bulge still be a seroma? or something else?

I think your surgeon who operated on you is best to answer your question as he/she knows exactly what was done during surgery and what was the status if your incision at the postop visit as well as the current condition of your operative site.

Seromas are a superficial fluid filled collection at a recent surgical incision site that can develop within weeks typically a result of persistent fascial and connective tissue disruption. Depending on the type of hernia repaired, a skin bulge could be caused by a recurrent hernia, cyst, lipoma, or other tumors. A superficial ultrasound can differentiate the cause
