The younger age doctors, born around 1955 are retiring around now, but the older generation like me are still practicing , i am 82 and still extracting teeth, doing fillings and making dentures. In good health and go to the gym every morning to work out and then to the office from 1-6, 5 days a week, no dementia or ALXHEIMER'S yet, that's why i am still practicing.

I think 72-75 are common ages for them to retire. Nowadays they tend not to take care of patients in the hospital or go out at night to see patients or even take night phone calls. With hospitalists, MD' s in emergency rooms and in intensive care units 24/7, their work load is much less onerous than we old timers had.
