How long would it take for air bubbles (going in thru an iv line) to cause an embolism? i already know small bubbles are not a problem but the almost the whole line was filled with air ?

Seconds. As long as it takes for the bubble to some place important. Assuming it was a venous line not likely a problem. Discuss with your local team.
