The thin gray film may be food/liquid debris and not thrush at all. It is not at a level I would consider any treatment needed. Discuss this with your doc or dentist. You may just need to brush your tongue occasionally if it bothers you.

Agree with Dr. Ferguson. What you described suggests a coated tongue. You may try using a tongue scrapper or clean your tongue with a tooth brush.

Agree with the other doctors that it may not be thrush, so I would first follow their instructions. However, you can get thrush only on the tongue, so if it persists or you have an underlying immune problem, you should see your doctor for possible treatment.

This is called CANDIDIA albicans, which is a fungus that affects the mucous membranes of the mouth and vagina .It occurs mostly in infants or the elderly who are debilitated and those who are on antibiotics. You can wipe off lesion or apply topical medications .Discontinue antibiotics and control your diabetes.
