A member asked:

Tvs ultrasound - endometrial lining 29mm, submucosal fibroid, complex ovarian cyst. hysteroscopy was inconclusive - no cancer but very few tissue fragments. going in for a 2nd ultrasound. why this instead of a d&c/biopsy to get a good tissue sample?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If the transvaginal U/S is accurate, an endometrial lining of "29mm" is usually biopsied by a D&C. The "complex ovarian cyst" is definitely needful of biopsy, via laparoscopic surgery. Obtain a second opinion, as the complex ovarian cyst will require general anesthesia, and a D&C simultaneously will present clinical evidence for both the endometrium and the ovary.
