If you keep your Diabetes under control and stay under the care of ophth. specializing in retinal disease there is a good chance you will be OK. Besides, you are young and medical advances are occurring rapidly and maybe soon there will be some way found to halt this problem. Be optimistic!. Good luck

You can reduce your risk of vision loss by tight control of your blood sugar. Aim to keep your A1c level below 7. Consult your doctor and a nutritionist for advice about diet, medication and exercise. Visit this site for info: https://www.cdc.gov/diabetes/managing/manage-blood-sugar.html Wish you good health!
