Without a family history, and your young age, colon cancer is unlikely. One of the best things that you can do to benefit your diet, and colon health, is to increase your dietary fiber. I would recommend starting a fiber supplement (Benefiber or metamucil) once a day, and increasing it to 2 to 3 times over the next month.

Unless a family member was diagnosed with colon cancer by age 30, your risk of colon cancer is remote. A separate communication addresses treatment for constipation.
