If this is a change in bowel habits, you should see GI and have it assessed. You would need a colon evaluation, perhaps a colonoscopy, if there are concerns that remain to be certain there is no cancer in the colon or rectum. There are also treatments for constipation that a GI doctor can implement, depending on their evaluation. So, see a GI doctor for evaluation.

If eating fiber rich foods helps your bowel movements, and you have problems when you do not, it is probably a sign that you’re not getting enough fiber. You should continue to eat vegetables and maybe even consider a fiber supplement. If you have a persistent change in your mouth habits, see your doctor or a gastroenterologist. Good luck.
