A member asked:

Is there a skin condition that could make one prone to boils and/or cysts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

In my opinion recurrent pustules & boils are caused by staphyllococal bacteria which colonize the skin of some people. The boils come in crops. The most effective treatment, in my experience, is a prolonged course of a potent antistaph antibiotic like dicloxacillin given for a few weeks. People who are allergic to penicillin can't take it, however. Cephalexin can be used in these people
