It could be from co-vid. Most people recover the taste with time. Unless what was remove from where it is hard to comment if it resulted from your surgery. Discuss this with your oral surgeon and get your taste function checked out by a neurologist. good luck.

Not cleaning properly, BOTH brushing and flossing, can lead to taste-altering infections, let alone gross taste and smell. See your Dentist/Hygienist for a personalized oral hygiene program. See your General Physician or an infectious disease specialist for a discussion of "Long Covid. "See hospital-based specialist Oral Pathologist to evaluate for "damage." Instead of being scared, be pro-active.
