A member asked:

Is it possible to reinfect yourself with covid from your own tooth brush or anything of the sort? ie if i have covid, a week later im mostly recovered from my mild infection and then i brush my teeth with a tooth brush i used during my infection?

You recover from covid when your body makes enough of its own immune response to chase the germs away. Your body retains that high level such as the event you describe is unlikely to do anything, even if the germs remained alive on the toothbrush. Some people have a prolonged course with covid when their system is not quite as strong at killing it off or the damaged tissues take longer to heal.

The COVID virus lasts on cardboard objects 24 hours and on other surfaces up to 3 days. No transmission from toothbrush, but best change toothbrushes every 2-3 months and use a soft brush.
