Get a second opinion regarding control of hypertension. There are many other drugs which can be used successfully, and frequentl a combination is necessary to control it in some indivduals.

Enalapril will also raise potassium and can raise bun& creatinine as well. Taking a low dose longacting diuretic like hydrochlorothiazide will mitigate potassium elevation caused by lisinopril or enalapril & may not aggravate your kidney insufficiency. A calcium channel blocker like amlodipine should be well tolerated. Also an alphablocker like doxazosin will lower BP& not affect kidneys. ✓with MD
