Rebound effect: You are probably experiencing the rebound phenomena associated with medications like atenolol called beta blockers. It is due to sudden discontinuation . Any particular reason for the change. I recommend you follow up with your doctor asap.

Can't compare: The two drugs are of entirely different classes and the response of any given patient can vary to each class. It's not as simple as saying "you'll get this much reduction for this many mg of drug.".
