My mom (70) was admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis, the doctor said it was an "important" inflammation and a gallstone is this too dangerous? how long the hospitalization? she's not in any pain but i'm freaking out. how bad is this?

It's good that she is not in pain because pain is the most common symptom that patient suffers in pancreatitis. Gallstone (cholelithiasis) is the most common cause of pancreatitis. There are criteria for assessing the severity of pancreatitis but we do not have those; however, do not worry much, this condition is treatable with most often good outcome. She will eventually need cholecystectomy.

If one hasn't already been ask to consult on your mother, I think it's mandatory to have an abdominal surgeon evaluate your mother, render an opinion about the best treatment at this time and arrange for follow-up as well.
