A member asked:

My mom (70) was admitted to the hospital for pancreatitis and she's having surgery to remove gallstones after the inflammation go away (apparently the cause of the pancreatitis) is this a safe surgery for her age?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All surgery carries risks. But often not having a particular surgery can result in health risks even greater than the surgery itself. Discuss your concerns with your mother's GP and/or Surgeon.
