Barrett's esophagus : Ppi medications are important in the treatment of barrett. Annual scopes are not needed for improving or stable lesions & can be performed less often. Life-style & dietary modification are important. Chemoprevention (eg Aspirin + statin) show promising results. Photodynamic therapy & radiofrequency ablation.

Must have biopsies: Barrett's esophagus can lead to esophageal cancer so it must be taken very seriously. Acid blockers like Prilosec may help your reflux symptoms but will not treat or prevent the barrett's. You should have multiple biopsies with your endoscopes to be sure no atypia is developing. If it is, it can sometimes be treated with non-surgical(ablation methods) or endoscopes mucosal resections. Good luck!
