A member asked:

Thin mushy stools worried about colon cancer? although i have been taking a lot of metamucil can this cause mushy stools?

Metamucil is a product that binds tightly with water making it hard for the colon to extract it from the poop. When used in high enough quantities it will produce poop with the consistency of applesauce. If you decrease the dose, stools will be firmer.

Yes, reduce your intake of metamucil by half and if the stools are still mushy 2-3 days later, reduce it again by half. Drink enough water so that your urine is mostly colorless.
