If this is something that you are susceptible to, then hormone fluctuations could be a trigger. However, hormones will not cause any underlying cardiac condition and this needs to be properly evaluated if that has not been done. Irregular heart beats could be a sign of something serious, even life-threatening.

I agree with the advice to consult your physician or a cardiologist to determine the nature and cause of your palpitations. That being said, fluctuations in hormones that occur just prior to menses can definitely be a cause of palpitations described as racing,skipping or fluttering of the heart beat.
