My doctor put me on 300 mg of zoloft. i read that the normal dose maximum for an adult is 200. am i allowed to be on 300 mg? he said it was for an ocd patient let me know?

Your dr is correct. If you go beyond maximum dose of 200 mg /day , the chance of side effects is greater.

If Zoloft isn’t helping there are other options: Antidepressants approved by U.S. (FDA) to treat OCD include: Clomipramine (Anafranil) for adults and children 10 years and older Fluoxetine (Prozac) for adults and children 7 years and older Fluvoxamine for adults and children 8 years and older Paroxetine (Paxil, Pexeva) for adults only Sertraline (Zoloft) for adults and children 6 years and older
