I have lost a significant amount of weight since last taking propranolol. i went from a bmi of almost 25 to just over 21. is the weight drop going to cause the propranolol to have a bigger effect on me?

What is the reason for propranolol in your case? With the use of this med I think immediately of 2 conditions for significant weight loss: propranolol is used for symptomatic control of hyperparathyroidism which is the culprit for weight loss or one of side effects of propranolol is depression which can also cause weight loss. Propranolol by itself does not have direct weight loss effect.

This would be a very unusual effect or propranolol. Look for another cause. Most drugs are metabolized differently based on weight. Discuss with your Dr. The change in BMI will not likely affect your response to it..
