A member asked:

Can you analyze a kidney stone by urine dr test or any other urine test?

It is stone itself that needs to be analyzed to determine its composition. Urine analysis by itself may not provide information about the composition of the stone.

Sometimes specific crystals are described in the urine sample that may hint to what the stone is made of, stone analysis will provide definitive answers otherwise.

The surest way to do it is by analyzing a piece of the stone. Urine tests can only guess
