Good morning, i supposedly have inflammation in my esophagus and they want to give me an oral steroid. is there anyway i can avoid that?

Steroids are reportedly very helpful in eosinophilic esophagitis for their topical effect. Please discuss this fully with your gastroenterologist and understand the reasons for his recommendation before you try to "avoid" it. Good luck.

Making sure you understand clearly what is the diagnosis, if known for sure or high suspicion and options to treat it will help you decide. All drugs have side effects, but used in the right context their benefit/harm ratio is expected to remain favorable to the patients.
