A member asked:

My daughter is 4 and went to the doctors recently for constipation. her doctor found a lump in the lower right of her abdomen. she thinks its just a loose stool, but my daughter will be going for an ultrasound just to be sure. what else could it be?

Good chance nothing else except hard feces. So dont worry and wait for the test

I would expect impacted stool to occur in the left colon. In the absence of abdominal pain, intersussception or volvulus are unlikely . Other causes of a right lower abdominal lump are abdominal hernias or intraabdominal growths. Hopefully the ultrasound will reveal a nonserious issue.
