I just used a public bathroom and after using it i noticed that their was dry period blood on the side of the toilet. i squatted, but i am terrified that any of that got on me. could i be in danger of any blood borne illness?

No, not even superficial infections would be possible if you did not touch it, definitely not blood borne.
