33 yr old. i had years of constipation, since infancy. sometimes when i have the urge to poop today, i sometimes tend to ignore the sensation for few minutes. then when i sit i can't go and i get constipated. should i go fie colonoscopy?

If so offered. If your detailed medical history, physical exam, previous response to treatment and lifestyle changes are being conclusive of a need for colonoscopy in your gastroenterologist’s opinion by all means have it done for diagnostic purposes. Otherwise, it sounds that psychological adjustments would be best to time correctly moving your bowels based on your needs.

For constipation - : You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
