I just got an inr result of 1.0 on today's b/w. everything indicates this is normal, but the lab issued notes about increased risk of thrombosis, and numbers in ranges of 2-3, and 2.5-3.5. is a 1.0 normal? thank you for answering my question?

Yes 1.0 is normal for individuals not on anticoagulation, commonly Coumadin. The range of 2-3 is provided as the goal for patients on anticoagulation.

Agree with Dr. P. INR of 1.0 is normal. If you are not on anticoagulants, it is just where you want to be. Wish you good health!
