The sooner the tooth comes out, the better. No need to wait 1 1/2 months unless there is an underlying reason.. infection should subside enough for an extraction in about a week.

You don't infection bacteria circulating in your body for weeks. This could lead to other medical problems, The sooner you have the tooth extracted the better it is for your health.

Infection. Requires Rx. The sooner the better. Delay only means more spread of the infection. Oral Surgeons and Periodontists are both post-graduate full time residency trained specialists. I don't know what you mean by "periodontist general."
