I assume you don't have an upper respiratory tract infection. Excessive throat mucus can also occur with postnasal drip, acid reflux ir the less common laryngopharangeal reflux. If the mucus is too thick & difficult to expectorate take a product with guaifenesin. (like mucinex) in it to loosen mucus. See ENT specialist as needed.

Time to call your GP for an examination, possible throat swab or other lab tests. And by the way gently brushing 2x/day w soft t'brush, pea-sized portion of fluoridated t'paste, for 2 full minutes by the clock, cleans about 2/3 of tooth surfaces. Flossing or using WaterPik daily removes what t/brush can't reach, about 1/3. Mouthwash temporarily removes about 1% of bacteria.
