Oral thrush, candidiasis, is a fungal infection, an overgrowth of Candida yeast in the mouth. It affects all ages, including adults. While commonly seen in infants and individuals with weakened immune systems, it can still occur in healthy adults. Common symptoms of thrush is a sore throat, the presence of white spots or patches on the tongue, inner cheeks, or other areas of the mouth.
