You probably used your arms more in your daily activities than previously. The engorged veins are a result of more blood flow to the arms and hands so the returned blood is heavier and makes the veins congested. When the veins are congested, capillaries (tiny vessels) are also dilated and fluid leaks out more so the fingers are puffier. Use pillows to raise your arms up during sleep may help.
