Having cholesterol 236 mg/dl ldl 140,hdl 59 .i want to try to lower ldl with stenols supplements 3x 800mg tablets a day trying it over few mths then have a blood test to check levels with exercise and good diet.are they proven to work peer reviewed?

It may lower your total cholesterol but I am not sure how much these supplement can bring down the bad cholesterol LDL. Why are you willing to take 3 capsules a day which costs more money than a single tablet of statin and its effectiveness has been proven by studies, especially you already have at least 2 risks for coronary disease: man and above 50, unless you have serious adverse effect(s)?
