Sequelae is Latin for side effects or long term consequences. Your doctor is correct: hepatitis A rarely results in ongoing liver problems of any kind (i.e. sequelae).

In every health problem there is always some side effects or lasting consquences. If you are told this by any health professional and don't understand than look up the terminology in a dictionary.
