You may have spine problem and paraspinal muscle spasm which are completely separated from chronic pancreatitis. Diazepam can be helpful because it relieves the spasm somewhat but this should not be used because of its addicted effect. You need a spine exam and CT or MRI of the thoracolumbar area for a correct diagnosis and treatment.

Work up should be extended as musculoskeletal pain would be the most common, among others. Diazepam is habit forming and should be used cautiously.
