Dependency can develop starting at 2 weeks of using Ativan regularly, it depends on the dose but also individual factors. Anxiety is the most common withdrawal symptom experienced after stopping benzodiazepines and it is a sign of dependency.

After about 2-3 weeks, tolerance may occur as an initial manifestation of dependency, and sleep may become far less refreshing. Anxiety may take a higher dose to control. If you are concerned of eventual problems, which are not by any means atypical, contact your doctor and discuss.
