A member asked:

Could asthma be caused by stress and anxiety as a primary cause? or do they only worsen the symptoms? can they be the only triggers?

These are excellent questions. Stress, anxiety or other emotions definitely are not the cause of asthma, but they can trigger outbreaks in people with asthma. However, most people experience other triggers as well, especially aiborne pollen or other irritants. If you have asthma, discuss all this with your doctor(s). Good luck!
