A member asked:

At home fit test results came back positive. i am not open for colonoscopy testing. are there any other noninvasive tests? what could this fit result mean and could things like diverticulitis/hemorrhoids and/or other conditions influence this result?

Yes, the source of the bleeding is not known, not only the above mentioned conditions involving colon, but conditions affecting the upper gastrointestinal system may be involved. A colonoscopy may catch early cancers, polyps or identify the actual source for the bleeding, such an ulcer, but may very well fail to uncover the cause for the bleeding at all. A fit test only looks for blood coming from the colon and any source of bleeding in the colon will give a positive result. Colonoscopy is recommended. If you are not inclined to do that, talk to your doctor about getting a cologuard test.
