Must not guess: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, then the things to try are vegetables, fiber with water, prune juice, prunes, Miralax, Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives... In an older adult, many possibilities means one's Dr follows closely the symptoms.

I had blood in stool nothing showed up on colonoscopy no hemorrhoids or fissures just diverticulosis. I have blood again small amount streaking stool what could be causing this?

Most likely it's the diverticulosis. Discuss with the doctor or clinic where the colonoscopy was done.
