A member asked:

Is there anyway that drinking an unusually large amount of water after taking medicine could dillute it or cause it to be less effective in any way? and also 3-4 cups of coffee amongst all the water?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Water does not interact adversely with your oral medications, and typically coffee does not cause medication impairment either. But some folks add creme or sugar, so this addition might affect some medications, which are advised to be taken "on an empty stomach".
