Temperature tech: Simple answer--yes, all the above. Anything--large fillings, caps, crowns, and root exposure-can allow temperature irritation of a tooth or teeth as the nerve in the tooth reacts to transmitted cooling from the ice. However, if the tooth/teeth are "extremely" sensitive and hurt for an extended time after "icing", the you need to see your dentist--the nerve may be dying in the tooth.
