By CDC guidelines, a symptomatic patient with Covid-19 infection has to be in quarantine for 10 days. Five day rule is for asymptomatic people.

Continue quarantine until day 10. The cough may linger and continue to monitor temperature and breathing. A test may be required by your employer prior to return. Most patients are negative by day 10.

Once your fever and cough are over, give it 5 more days and resume activity
