A member asked:

Why do some people test positive for covid19 for longer time?is this related to age or immunity?does staying positive for a long time imply there will be health implications latter?what should should these people do to stay healthy if they are older?

Additional booster vaccination may be recommended this year. Avoid crowds, follow guidelines for social distancing and masking. The persistent PCR positive test without symptoms is usually related to non viable viral elements rather than replicating virus. PCR testing may remain positive for weeks. A home antigen test should convert to a negative test after the infection has resolved.
